Angela Egan and Healthy Harold spent the day with RPS students in the Life Education Van.
The senior class module was 'Decisions'. Students learned how to improve decision making skills by looking at choices, consequences, responsibility, facts, and influences. They also explored: what is a drug and how drugs are classified; effects of drugs on the body; analysing health messages about drugs in the media; influences on decision making - family, peers, media, culture, financial, legal; and strategies and skills to be safe.
The junior class module was 'My Body Matters'. This module focused on things children can do to keep themselves healthy including: the importance of personal hygiene; choosing foods for a balanced diet; benefits of phusical activity and sleep; and ways to keep safe at home, school and in the community.
